Beautiful words :’)
(Jaejoong, 5:27pm KST) Imagine that we had no eyes. If we had no eyes, we would feel the ‘warmth’ of sunlight before the dazzling light made it unbearable, we would experience the ‘scent’ of a flower before its beautifulness, and we would understand the ‘heart’ of a person before we formed our impression of them from sight.

[News] 121124 JYJ’s Jaejoong Speaks Of His Experience Filming ‘Code Name Jackal’

Through his roles in dramas such as ‘Protect the Boss‘ and ‘Time Slip Dr. Jin‘, JYJ‘s Jaejoong has proven his competence as a formidable actor. However, he recently revealed in an interview that he wanted to try something different after his more serious roles.

This urge led him to consider ‘Code Name Jackal’ (directed by Bae Hyung Joon), where he would be able to play a more comedic character. “I always want to show something new about myself,” he confessed. “With ‘Code Name Jackal’, I wanted to do that. I’ve always played serious, heavy roles, so I wanted to spread the word that there are other sides of me, too.”

“Through my character [in ‘Code Name Jackal’], I wanted to play a more trickster, sarcastic role,” he revealed. “A lot of my personal self is melted into my ‘Jackal’ character.”

Although the film itself is not doing as well as he had hoped – against big names such as ‘Wolf Boy‘ and overseas releases – Jaejoong considered the experience to be worth it. “Personally, the mere fact that I did a film was a great chance and opportunity. Of course we must consider the success of the film, but I feel that the movie was a way for me to show myself. It was a wonderful chance and I gained many things as well. I think that acting for this film gave me strength in life, as well as giving me motivation for music.”

While filming, Jaejoong experienced the true craziness and rush of a film set. “We really filmed like crazy,” he said. “I often dozed in the middle of shooting. If I ate, I would’ve given up on sleep; if I slept, I would’ve given up on eating. In order to combine the two, I ate vitamin supplements.”

Despite his grueling and hectic schedule as an actor and artist, Jaejoong sometimes thinks about a normal life. When asked what he would like to do if he had the chance to be an ordinary citizen, he answered, “Firstly, I want to go to a bustling roadside stand. I’d eat tasty food and have a drink, then get over my hangover the day after. Then I’d go shopping and sightseeing. It’s been 8 years since I’ve visited Dongdaemun [a landmark in Seoul]. I also want to go to the amusement park and go on all the rides I want. I’ve visited a few times due to filming, but I’ve never been on anything.”

However, Jaejoong also recognized the benefits of his celebrity status, especially pointing out his fans that had supported him since his debut. “I’ve had many incidents and fallen on hard times, and every time I’m grateful to my fans,” he said. “Because I was with you, I was able to get over my suffering and pain.”

One particular encounter with a fan is emblazoned into his memory, Jaejoong recounted. “I once told a fan to study hard prior to the exam, and she ended up placing first. There’s also a fan who got into Waseda University in Japan. It was a moment where I realized the importance of my relationship with my fans.”

“For those of you who have yet to watch ‘Code Name Jackal’, I hope you’ll go into it with an easy mindset and ready to laugh. There are a lot of positive traits hidden in our movie. The more you see it, the more film-like it becomes. Thanks for your interest.” he finished.

Editors Note: November 11th, 2012 In Honor of Veterans Day

In Honor of Veterans Day

It is so easy to overlook and forget yet another government holiday. If you are not a veteran, Veterans Day may come and go with the only reminder being no mail delivery. Veterans are a special people, and there are many activities to honor their sacrifice at home and abroad.  Cemeteries and memorials abound with the remains of those who have ensured your and my way of life for many centuries. Not only do veterans deserve our thanks and respect–they also deserve more recognition from us. Some are still actively engaging in warfare all over the world on repeated tours of duty.

I cannot imagine how it must feel to have hopes and dreams with no guarantees of ever achieving them. Those who are Blessed to return to home and family must treasure this miraculous gift.  For those who have no home or family to embrace–our special prayers go out to them today.

A sincere Thank You to all of our Veterans everywhere. May you stay safe under the shadow of His wings.

What’s All This About Birthstones?

I have often wondered about birthstones, as they appear to be arbitrarily chosen and changed ever so often. While browsing the web I came across some interesting information that I retrieved from www.wikipedia.com that indicated the use of birthstones for many centuries, and is connected to the Gregorian Calendar.  As was not surprising, the use of birthstones is tied to myth and lore, yet I wanted to share some of what I found as it includes poetry. I have had 3 different birthstones since I was born as they keep changing. Enjoy!!!

Traditional Birthstones

Ancient traditional birthstones are society-based birthstones. The table below contains many stones which are popular choices, often reflecting Polish tradition.[10]

The Gregorian calendar has poems matching each month with its birthstone. These are traditional stones of English-speaking societies. Tiffany & Co. published these poems “of unknown author” for the first time in a pamphlet in 1870.[11]

By her who in this month (January) is born

No gem save garnets should be worn;

They will ensure her constancy,

True friendship, and fidelity.

The February-born shall find
Sincerity and peace of mind,
Freedom from passion and from care,
If they an amethyst will wear.

Who in this world of ours their eyes
In March first open shall be wise,
In days of peril firm and brave,
And wear a bloodstone to their grave.

She who from April dates her years,
Diamonds shall wear, lest bitter tears
For vain repentance flow; this stone,
Emblem of innocence, is known.

Who first beholds the light of day
In spring’s sweet flowery month of May
And wears an emerald all her life
Shall be a loved and happy wife.

Who comes with summer to this earth,
And owes to June her hour of birth,
With ring of agate on her hand
Can health, wealth, and long life command.

The glowing ruby shall adorn,
Those who in July are born;
Then they’ll be exempt and free
From love’s doubts and anxiety.

Wear a sardonyx or for thee,
No conjugal felicity;
The August-born without this stone,
`Tis said, must live unloved and lone.

A maiden born when September leaves
Are rustling in September’s breeze,
A sapphire on her brow should bind
`Twill cure diseases of the mind.

October’s child is born for woe,
And life’s vicissitudes must know,
But lay an opal on her breast,
And hope will lull those woes to rest.

Who first comes to this world below
With drear November’s fog and snow,
Should prize the topaz‘s amber hue,
Emblem of friends and lovers true.

If cold December gave you birth,
The month of snow and ice and mirth,
Place on your hand a turquoise blue;
Success will bless whate’er you do.

 Modern Birthstones

In 1912, in an effort to standardize birthstones, the (American) National Association of Jewelers met in Kansas and officially adopted a list.[12] The Jewelry Industry Council of America updated the list in 1952[13] by adding alexandrite to June and citrine to November; specifying pink tourmaline for October; replacing December’s lapis with zircon; and switching the primary/alternate gems in March. The most recent change occurred in October of 2002, with the addition of tanzanite as a December birthstone.[14][15] Britain’s National Association of Goldsmiths created their own standardized list of birthstones in 1937.[16]

The Prospect of Empty Nesting by Chaelwest

I have never anticipated the prospect of having an empty nest. You could call it denial or call it a desire to keep my children close and safe, but I have coasted along for many years not realizing how hard it would be to release my children to adulthood and thus to the world out there.

My daughters are well-trained. They are moral, productive citizens, and I am so proud of their accomplishments and abilities. We have always worked together as a team–their father and I as a minister of music and of the Word; they as musicians and sound technicians.

Over the years, there has been so much concentration on work that I missed the fact that my girls were also needing to find their own persons to love. After all, family love is one thing, but espousal love is something entirely different.

I truly believe that my girls will desire a man of integrity and honor; one who treats them well and respects them as persons. I would want this to be reciprocal because both parties in a union must respect and honor one another. I would encourage them to look for nothing less in the person they choose.

This is simply thought and the desires of my heart for them both. I pray that GOD will honor these desires. Nevertheless, I am aware that their choices are just that–their choices. I cannot choose for them, I don’t believe in arranged marriages, but what I can do is pray–fervently and unceasingly. I can trust in a GOD who has never failed me and in whose hands I will place my children. The thought of not having them asleep in my home is over-whelming and will become reality some day, but I pray for sons who will understand my mother’s heart and allow them to return to my bosom when they need to relate, and who will desire to relate also. I pray for beautiful grandchildren who will reflect the core values of their parents and grandparents.

Am I dreaming an impossible dream? No, I don’t think so. Life has proven that this is possible. Whatever the choices that my daughters make, whomever they choose to love and care for, their Dad and I will bless them and pray for them as my parents blessed and prayed for me and my choices so many years ago.

The Proposal ? + My Boyfriend Does My Makeup

The Proposal ?

I don’t know if you have ever had the pleasure of watching one or more of Bubz’ youtube productions–but they are unique and warm.

This video made me cry because this couple shared this special moment with us all.

Here is an example of Bubz’ unique productions.

My Boyfriend Does My Makeup

Hey everyone!

This video has been highly requested for quite some time now. It took mega convincing to get Tim to agree to this video. It took even longer waiting for him to be free (He was busy playing Diablo 3) to do this tag.

Tim and I have been together for 9 years now. He’s not only my Bubba but my bestest friend in the World ^_^. He was very nervous about doing my makeup but eventually really got into it during the video. I can tell he was having fun (even though he doesn’t admit it haha) I’m proud of him. We had a good banter for sure.

The makeover he gave me looks better than any of the ‘makeovers’ I give him on my Bubbiosity channel anyways!

I’m sure you’ll see Tim in more of my videos in the future. For now, you can check out my Vlog Channel to see more of him ^_^ http://www.youtube.com/bubzvlogz
